ECR Boys Soccer CIF Championship Final

ECR Boys' Soccer Place 2nd in Los Angeles 🥈

On February 24th, our Boys' Soccer team finished runner-up in the Division 1 Los Angeles City Section Final at Los Angeles Valley College.

ECR Girls' Soccer CIF Championship Final

ECR Girls' Soccer Places 2nd in Los Angeles 🥈

On Friday, February, 23, our Girls' Soccer team played their hearts out in the Division 1 Los Angeles City Section Final at Los Angeles Valley College.

ECR Color Guard Wins Again

On Saturday, February 17, 2024, our Color Guard team took 1st place at the WGASC (Winter Guard Association of Southern California) in Downey.

The team competed against 13 other teams in the same division and our team was honored with the 1st place award for their "A Walk in the Park" performance.

ECR NJROTC Win State

Congratulations to the ECR NJROTC team for winning the State Championship in Drill.

It is the first time for the program and the team earned a spot at the Navy Drill Nationals in April in Pensacola, Florida.

America talks about being nominated for an Oscar, going to the nominees luncheon, meeting Martin Scorsese, what she was doing when the nominations were announced, honoring her high school drama teacher Mrs. Freitag who came to the show, the impact of her amazing speech in Barbie, not memorizing her lines before getting to set, her kids seeing the movie, and seeing huge celebrities when she first started acting as a teenager.

Journalism & Yearbook leave their mark at the LAJEA Regional Write-offs

Journalism and Yearbook students, along with advisers Mrs. Carter and Ms. Conte, attended the Los Angeles Journalism Education Association 2024 Regional Write-Offs Contest on Saturday and brought home the 2nd place Sweepstakes trophy!

In the Feature Writing category, Jenna Espinoza placed 9th and Kaley Samiian placed 4th. In the News Writing category, Kyleigh Zvara placed 8th and Isabel Rose placed 3rd. In the Opinion Writing category, Sophie Apolaya Diaz placed 7th and Sydney Keane placed 2nd. In the Sports Writing category, Kasey Lee placed 7th and Coleton Rice placed 1st. In the Photography category, Eliza Lotterstein placed 3rd and Rebecca Margolin placed 2nd.

ECR is thrilled to announce its outstanding performance at the 2024 SoCal Charter Schools Regional Academic Decathlon Competition, where our talented team demonstrated unparalleled academic prowess and defended their regional title.

POPs Club Offers a Healing Community

James DeLarme, a social studies teacher at El Camino Real Charter High School in Woodland Hills, leads a lunch meeting of POPS (Pain of the Prison System) the Club, a group for teens with a parent or close family member who is incarcerated.

Thank you to everyone who participated in the Shriner Hospital Toy Drive, and a special thank you to our ECR Choir for performing at the event! 

Outdoor performance

The Academic Decathlon team captured Gold at the Canyon Del Oro Invitational this weekend in Arizona. The team garnered 43 individual medals defeating their nearest competitor by over 5,000 points. Top-scoring honors were earned by Willa Porter, Lincoln Webster, Ambika Chhikara, Adra Ellis, and Niki Safaie.

On the road to capturing their title, the Academic Decathlon team competed against 54 teams where El Camino earned 49,161.6 out of 60,000 points outscoring the nearest competitor by 1286.1 points.
