Teachers will set up a “booth-style” fair where you can ask them about their course, expectations and requirements.

From 6:00pm until 6:45pm we will also offer various workshops on college readiness. Topics include

  • AP Seminar:  Elevating Research Investigation: Room B222: Research is so much more than a submitted essay. AP Seminar provides the tools for deepening investigation and linking research findings to real-world problem solving. Seminar students conduct individual and team projects while assessing source credibility and synthesizing perspectives. Workshop attendees will learn about how the QUEST model enables students to map the evolving journey of their research investigation.Presenter: Ms. Gilkeson
  • Unlocking the Genius in African American students: Room A212: Presenter: Mr. Fluker
  • What are AP classes and why it is important to take them (offered in Spanish): Room: Library: Presenters;  Ms. Mata and Ms. Endres
  • AP for first-timers: What AP teachers want you to know about AP classes: Room B109: This workshop will help you discover the kind of workload you should expect in an AP class, the, depth and breadth of content, necessary critical thinking and writing skills, various assessment types, and general differences from traditional college-prep/honors level classes.  Presenter: Mrs. Knight
  • AP Potential:  Student Panel:  Room B108: If you are taking an AP class for the first time and want to hear from AP students and advice they would give you, then listen to the panel of AP students in this workshop. Presenter:  College Counselors
  • College Knowledge: Room:  Anderson Hall: Learn about college requirements (A-G), entrance exams, the importance of AP classes with college admissions.  Presenters: Counselors
