SAT and ACT Testing
College Office

Important Information about the SAT and ACT:

  • A student can take either the ACT or the SAT.  UC/CSU and most private/out-of-state schools will take either scores.  One test is not better than the other.
  • For UC schools, you can send your score to one UC school and the scores will be sent to all the schools you applied to.
  • For CSU schools, you can use the code 3594 to send your SAT scores to all CSU schools that you applied to.  This code does not work for ACT scores.  You must use the CSU ACT manager to send your ACT score to all the CSU schools you applied to.
  • For the UC and CSU schools, please send all your test scores.
  • There are some colleges/universities that do not use any test scores in their admissions process.  You can get more information about those schools at www.fairtest.org

Fee Waivers

Students who qualify for free and reduced lunch program may receive 2 free SAT Reasoning, 2 free SAT Subject Tests, and 2 free ACT fee waivers (in the course of their entire high school years).  Priority is given to seniors for the fall semester and the juniors in the spring semester.

  • Students must file a free and reduced lunch program application first.  Please go the Assistant Principal’s Office for the application.
  • Applications for fee waivers are in the college office and must be submitted to Mrs. Bieber at nutrition.
  • Fee waivers cannot be used to register for a test past the registration deadlines.
