ECR Board

Did you know?

  • Among all public schools, ECRA teachers have one of the highest average teacher salaries in California. In 2015-16, ECR will have an average base salaries of ~$82K/teacher. In previous years, teachers made about $6 – 8K more from additional duties. For 2015-16, average total compensation can be ~$90K/teacher.
  • Among high school districts and charter high schools, ECR is one of the lowest funded schools in the entire state of California.
  • According to Governor Brown, average education spending in California will be $14,184 in 2015-16. ECR is only projected to receive $10,063 (over $500  are from one-time funds). If ECR received the average, it would mean an extra $14MM in our budget.
  • Outside the classroom spending, as a percentage of the budget, is significantly lower than most school districts. For example, LAUSD spends over 20% of their budget on overhead salaries. ECR is below 12%. Most of the difference is being applied to teacher salaries.
  • Since becoming an independent charter school, ECR has increased educational personnel (e.g. teachers, counselors, etc.) by ~20%.

Safeguarding of Financial Assets:

ECRA uses the following organizations to ensure that educational funds are used properly:

  • Annual Independent Financial Audit – Feddersen and Company
  • Annual Charter School Oversight – Los Angeles Unified School District
  • Maintenance of Financial Records – EdTec, a charter school back office firm. They submit payroll, prepares the budget and finalize the financial records
  • Governing Board – Reviews check registers on a monthly basis

All financial records are independently prepared and verified.
