ELIGIBILITY FOR SUMMER SESSION

For the 2013 summer session, only students who are in attendance (May 2013) at El Camino Real Charter High School are eligible to attend and pre-register for summer school.

Students who reside full time within the boundaries of the Los Angeles Unified School District may apply for admission to summer session on June 6th if space is available. The criterion is whether the student resides within the District’s boundaries and not whether the student is enrolled in a District school.

Students who reside full time outside the boundaries of LAUSD may apply for summer session

(on June 12th) only if they were enrolled in a LAUSD school the preceding semester.

SENIOR HIGH SCHOOL ELIGIBILITY

1. Students in grades 9-12 are eligible if they need additional instruction to pass the CAHSEE , if they require bilingual/ESL instruction in order to gain proficiency in Engish/mathematics skills required in the competency testing program, or if they received a mark of D or Fail in a course previously taken.

2. Students in grades 11 or 12 are eligible if they have failed specific required courses needed for graduation, which they cannot take in the fall semester in order to be eligible for graduation with their class.

3. Students in grade 12 are eligible if they have completed all but 5 or 10 credits needed for graduation and will graduate by completing the summer session.

4. Students in grade 9-12 are eligible to take elective classes if space is available. If a student takes one/two of these electives, this does not reduce the student’s schedule the following year (the student will still be required to take a full load of classes).
